All comments are moderated; I've had to spend too much time over the years weeding out "comment spam" and the occasional but distracting trollery/bad faith argumenteers; this is my way of blocking out the bots so I can spend my time/energy on actual humans.
Also, I love [writer] Scalzi's approach to comments moderation, which apparently he happily "stole" from Jenny Lawson / The Bloggess, and he calls it the 'kitten hammer.' If you've had someone try to waste your time, looking for an argument, you'll enjoy the above blogposts.
